In January 1994, David Stocklein shot the iconic image Winter Save for a Copenhagen advertisement during a calving period on a ranch in Mackay Idaho, where temps plummeted to -27°F. He witnessed local farmers traversing the landscape with flashlights, aiding birthing cows and delivering newborns to the barn, so as to avoid the bitter cold putting their lives in jeopardy. The cowboy on the horse, Kevin Donahue, was originally accompanying his own mount, but the ad agency asked him to use different one, requiring him to alter his mount. To make the scene as haggard as possible, David brought in some powerful fans to disperse the snow. The promotional campaign was named: Some Men Never Compromise They Cope.
