For the Spring, Summer, and Fall workshops, participants should book flights in/out of:
Idaho Falls (IDA), 3 hours from Mackay (Delta/Horizon/United) Hailey (SUN), 30 minutes from Ketchum (Delta/Horizon)
Twin Falls (TWF), 1 ½ hours from Ketchum (Delta)
Boise (BOI), 3 hours from Ketchum (Delta/Horizon/United/Southwest/Frontier/US Air)
For the Winter workshop, participants should book flights in/out of:
Idaho Falls (IDA), 3 hours from Mackay (Delta/Horizon/United)
There are rental car companies at each of the airports. Driving directions to the Stoecklein Gallery in Ketchum and the Bar Horseshoe Ranch in Mackay will be provided upon registration.
DIRECTIONS TO RANCH:
From Wood River valley to Mackay (over Trail Creek):
1. Head out on Sun Valley road towards Trail Creek (north)
2. Follow Trail Creek over the pass
3. When you get to Old Chili Road take a right
4. Follow this road till you hit 5600 W and take a right
5. When you get to 4800 N. take a left.
6. Follow this road until it comes Zollinger Rd. You must take a right. You are now on the ranch, driveways left and right are both Dave’s. The left is the old ranch house, to the right is the new ranch house.
From Boise to Mackay:
Take I-84E to exit 95 toward Mountain Home.
Turn left at ID-51 N/Sun Valley Hwy/US 20E. Continue for 100 miles.
Continue on Hwy 20E to Carey, ID.
Take Hwy 93 north toward Arco.
You will come to a “T” in the road. Head north towards Mackay, Idaho. This will take you right in to Mackay where all the motels are located.
Mackay to Bar Horseshoe Ranch
Follow the hwy through Mackay (towards Challis), once you are out of Mackay watch for the Mackay reservoir on the left hand side of the road.
Once you are past the reservoir start looking for a small green sign on the left called Fish Hatchery Road (approximately 7-10 miles from Mackay)
Once you are to Fish Hatchery Road make a left and follow this road a couple of miles until you come to a “V”, make the sharpest left hand turn onto a paved road.
Follow this road until you come to another “T” in the road. Make a left and follow the road around the first corner
You are now on the ranch, the driveway on the left is the bunk house and to the right is the main ranch house.
